Be Kind Rewind

I wanted to love this movie starring Jack Black. I really did, but I just couldn’t. The premise was really funny – and if the script had been completely overhauled (with just the basic premise remaining – “sweding” videos), then it might have worked (perhaps in the hands of Diablo Cody?). Mia Farrow played a small role. She has had so many face lifts and botox injections that I paid no attention to her scripted lines – I was mesmerized by the unnatural state of her face. It’s a shame. Why can’t people age naturally and gracefully like Annette Bening. She’s gorgeous. Have you seen Meg Ryan lately? Her lips look so unnatural; her forehead looks like it was sculpted out of wax……I digress. Be Kind Rewind would make for a light-hearted DVD rental on a rainy Sunday afternoon – and that’s about it. In fact, don’t spend any money renting it; see if you can borrow it from someone.
